Namrac (United Church Women’s Group)

Namrac - Carman United Church Women's Group dinner
Covid Notice: In line with CDC and United Church of Canada guidelines we are not physically meeting at this time. Please join us for virtual gatherings (Chew/Chat; Bible Study; Sunday Worship) on Zoom. Use our Contact Form to request links to the Zoom sessions and we will email them to you and when deemed safe, send notice when we plan to gather physically again.

Namrac, which is Carman spelled backwards, is Carman’s UCW (United Church Women) group. The group, which is open to all women of the congregation, meets in the Lounge on the fourth Tuesday of each month to share a time of devotion and fellowship and to learn about a variety of relevant and interesting topics. Past topics have included Healing Pathway, chair yoga, volunteer work done in countries such as Palestine, Kenya and Peru, wills and estates, disaster preparedness, other community groups and organizations, armchair travel, etc. Fall and Spring meetings are held in the evening while winter meetings are held mid-afternoon.

In addition to offering catering for memorial teas held at the church, this hard working, fun loving group undertakes several fundraising events each year including a turkey dinner, an antipasto and bake sale (held in conjunction with the Santa Breakfast) and a garage sale. These events are always well supported by the congregation and allow Namrac to generously contribute funds to the Carman United Church, the United Church of Canada Mission and Service Fund and numerous community organizations.
